Follow-up without the blank page
A short example of the weekly format: one job, clear steps, and a template you can copy, edit, and use the same day.
The job: When a lead or client email is waiting and you don't know where to start, turn your rough notes into a clear, polite follow-up in under 10 minutes.
Steps
- Collect your rough notes — who it's for, what happened last, what you need next. Bullet points are fine.
- Paste the prompt below into your AI chat tool and add your notes.
- Edit before you send — check names, dates, and tone. Add one specific detail only you would know.
- Send it yourself, then save your edited version as your personal template.
Copy-and-edit prompt
You are helping a busy small business owner write a follow-up.
My rough notes: [paste notes]
Write a short, polite follow-up email that:
- thanks them for [last step]
- recaps [agreed point] in one line
- asks clearly for [next step] by [date]
Keep it under 120 words, friendly and plain-spoken. Give me two subject lines.
Worked example
Rough notes: Dana asked for help organising monthly invoices; her spreadsheet is messy; promised a short outline by Friday.
Draft you might get (edit before sending): “Hi Dana — thanks for talking through this today. To recap: your current spreadsheet has grown hard to follow, and you would like a simple monthly summary. As promised, I will send a short outline by Friday.” Notice it does not invent a price or a deadline that was not in the notes.
